Life in Balance

H2O

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE my water. I do however know that there are a lot of people out there that DON’T love water. In fact there are A LOT of people that rarely even touch the stuff outside of the shower.

Water is actually one of the most important parts of any health and fitness plan. If you think about it, when you are trying to lose body fat, the excess has to have some way of being removed from your body. It’s recommended that you drink 64oz of water a day. I feel best when I drink 96oz or 3 liters, a day. I even read an article the other day that said you know you are drinking enough water when your urine is clear. I thought that was an interesting concept.

Since, I know this is a tough thing for so many people to do, I thought I would give you a few of my tricks.

1. Use a refillable container. I don’t always drink bottled water, but I do refill a liter size water bottle 3 times everyday so that I can keep track of how much I have consumed. I find that if I don’t do it that way, I over estimate what I am getting in. I have even gone as far as numbering the bottles so I knew if I was on number 1, 2, or 3.

2. Keep it with you. I have my bottle of water with me at all times. If you could see me typing this, you would see my liter bottle sitting right next to me. Out of sight out of mind works in the opposite direction as well.

3. Add something. I know a lot of people just don’t like the taste of water. I personally don’t get it, but my husband used to be that way. He started out by adding True Lemon to his water. Then he found a brand of bottled water that he could drink quite easily with out adding anything. Now he is good to go with just about any water. That being said. I don’t consider crystal light to be part of your daily requirement for water. I know some might, but for me, thats something you have after your water is in for the day.

I hope these ideas help those of you that may not be drinking enough water. Be sure to let me know if you tips of your own that have worked for you.

Cheers,

Janey

  1. Where do I purchase True Lime?

    • I should be able to find the True Lime, just about anywhere. I think I purchased mine at WalMart.
